Bifocal Contact Lenses In Oakville Offer Convenient And Easy Vision Correction

No matter what your age or lifestyle, wearing bifocal glasses can prove an inconvenient vision correction option. At Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we partner with a wide range of customers who, while hoping to improve the quality of their vision, simply aren’t thrilled about the possibility of wearing glasses. The reasons for their apprehension can vary. For some, it’s purely an aesthetic factor. For others, it’s the worry that they will misplace their expensive new glasses and have to continuously invest in new ones. Still others are hesitant to wear these glasses because they fear they just won’t prove a physically comfortable option for them. Fortunately, for these customers who are reluctant to wear bifocal glasses, there is another valid option to consider: bifocal contact lenses in Oakville.

What You’ll Gain When Choosing Bifocal Contact Lenses In Oakville

At Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we proudly offer our customers a comprehensive selection of customised bifocal contact lenses in Oakville. When partnering with us you’ll receive premium bifocal contact lenses in Oakville that are specifically designed for your distinctive visual needs, and unparalleled comfort when wearing them.

Choosing our bifocal contact lenses in Oakville doesn’t just mean that you’ll enjoy a quality product; you’ll also gain a comprehensive range of benefits that bifocal glasses can’t offer. When choosing contact lenses, you’ll instantly eliminate any aesthetic concerns you may have. Unlike glasses, most people will never even realise that you’re wearing lenses.

Another common complaint about glasses is that they can create a glare when wearing them in natural light. It can prove a major inconvenience for wearers who need prescription sunglasses to eliminate the issue. Wearing prescription lenses means you’ll never have to worry about glare in natural sunlight. Instead, you can purchase standard sunglasses and wear them over your lenses for a comfortable outdoor option.

Finally, choosing bifocal contact lenses means that you won’t have to put limitations on your physical activities. For many, participating in sporting events means having to purchase prescription athletic glasses. Not so with contact lenses. You can simply pop them in and enjoy any outdoor and/or physical activities with ease.

Not Just For Kids: Why A Thorough Eye Exam In Oakville Is Important At Any Age

Here at Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we work with the parents of children of all ages to schedule an eye exam in Oakville, to proactively gauge and maintain the visual health of their little ones. From standard annual exams, to advanced screenings required to address any potential vision problems, we partner with the parents to guarantee that their children get the care and attention needed for a long-term visual health.

While the parents make their child’s eye exam in Oakville a top priority, we sometimes notice that they don’t realise they should have routine vision exams part of their own personal healthcare regime. Many adults assume that scheduling an eye exam in Oakville is only required when a vision problem presents itself. However, this is simply not the case. At Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we know firsthand the importance of scheduling an annual eye exam in Oakville as an adult. No matter what your current age, or your existing physical health, routine vision examinations can play a crucial role in your holistic wellness regime.

Why Vision Screening Doesn’t Compare To An Eye Exam In Oakville

One common reason why adults may neglect to schedule their eye exam in Oakville is that they believe a recent vision screening satisfies any eye health concerns that they may have. While a vision screening does offer various benefits, it’s important to note that they do not compare to having a thorough eye exam in Oakville. Vision screenings are often static tests designed to answer just one specific question (i.e., can a person see well enough to drive?) These screenings can be conducted by individuals serving in various capacities; health care providers, volunteers, school nurses and doctors may all have received the limited training needed to adequately conduct a screening.

Yes, identifying an issue during a vision screening can prompt adults to schedule a follow up examination for further probing. However, passing a screening in no way takes the place of a thorough exam. Oftentimes, key vision concerns can be missed due to lack of training, or because the person conducting the test is only looking to check off a particular list of objectives. Rather than identifying one simple goal, an eye exam in Oakville delves much deeper into the overall visual health of an individual. At Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we offer our clients comprehensive visual examination conducted by our skilled and experienced optometrist.

After Your Examination: Post-Exam Treatment Plans and Follow Up

Often a failed vision screening does not prompt a specific treatment approach, it simply signifies the need for a more in-depth examination. However, problems that present themselves during an eye exam in Oakville can help the optometrist zero in on specific concerns. From there, a detailed post-exam treatment plan can be put together to help sustain the client’s visual integrity.

Don’t waste another moment wondering about your eye health; contact Sanger Contact Lens Centre today to schedule your eye exam in Oakville.

Sourcing Contact Lenses for Astigmatism in Oakville? Three Reasons to Choose Sanger

At Sanger Contact Lens Centre, we work with clients suffering from a wide range of visual impairments and conditions. A common eye condition for many of our partners is astigmatism.

Astigmatism is caused by an imperfectly shaped cornea. While most of us have corneas that aren’t perfectly round in shape, we are able to compensate as needed to refract light evenly when focusing on specific objects. However, for those suffering from astigmatism, the oblong shape on their cornea is so pronounced that they can’t naturally find a way to visually compensate. Instead, their cornea shape has actually affected how light enters their eyes, making it hard to focus on objects as a whole, as well as making items in the distance appear blurred.

Buying Your Contact Lenses for Astigmatism at Sanger in Oakville

If you’re concerned that you may be suffering from astigmatism, Sanger Contact Lens Centre can help. We offer 3 reasons for partners to consider buying their contact lenses for astigmatism in Oakville.

When purchasing your contact lenses for astigmatism in Oakville, we will help you choose between the Toric and Ortho-Sphere lenses. These premium products not only correct visual impairments, they can also reshape the cornea for permanent results.

Reason #3: We can modify your lenses as needed

Three Questions To Ask Your Child’s Optometrist In Oakville

As parents, we all know the importance of scheduling regular eye exams for our children. However, that doesn’t mean that we always feel confident about what to expect during the process. All too often, as adults, we don’t give our own eyes the attention that they deserve. The consequence to this is that, when it is time to make an appointment with an optometrist in Oakville for our children, we feel uncertain about how to manage their expectations and get the most out of the visit.

Knowing What To Ask Your Child’s Optometrist In Oakville Can Simplify The Process

One of the best ways to prepare yourself for a visit with your child to an optometrist in Oakville is to come prepared with various questions to have answered during the session. Some relevant questions you may want to consider include:

Is my child easily focusing on both far and near objects? Honing the ability to focus on both near and far objects is critical throughout your child’s vision development. This skill becomes increasingly more important as your child begins school and is required to switch the focus of their attention on various items throughout the classroom. Knowing that your child is focusing properly can help reassure you that they are able to switch their vision from watching the teacher, writing in their notebook or reading the whiteboard without issues.

Are glasses or contact lenses better suited for my child’s vision needs? Should your optometrist in Oakville notice a vision need in your child, it’s important to inquire about all of your available options. Some vision issues have better results with glasses, and others can quickly be remedied using prescription contact lenses. It’s also important to consider the age, preferences and physical needs of your child, to come up with a customised solution that will yield the results you are looking for.

How can I best protect my child’s eyes when playing outside?: A skilled and experienced optometrist in Oakville will be able to provide invaluable information on how to best keep your child’s eyes protected when enjoying outdoor activities. Inquiring about prescription sunglasses and other protective eye methods can help ensure that your child stays safe and comfortable in any type of outdoor activity.

If you’re looking for a qualified optometrist in Oakville for your child’s vision needs, Sanger Contact Lens Centre can help. Contact us today to set up an eye exam for your child.

The Eyes Have It: Five Tips For Picking The Perfect Pair Of Prescription Glasses In Oakville

Looking for a new pair of prescription glasses in Oakville can prove a fun, yet somewhat challenging experience. For many of us, our glasses are not only a trusted tool to help us see our best…they are also a stylish accessory that we use to help us look our best. With countless styles, looks, and designs to choose from, many of us find ourselves struggling with one important question: How do I pick the right pair for me?

It Is Possible To Pick Prescription Glasses In Oakville To Suit You

If you’re feeling overwhelmed with the sheer magnitude of available prescription glasses in Oakville to choose from, there is hope. Knowing a few key tips on what to consider when making your final selection can instantly streamline the process and help you make a final choice that both improves your vision and looks great on you.

When choosing prescription glasses in Oakville consider these five tips:

Tip #1 – Look In The Mirror: The first thing to do when choosing prescription glasses in Oakville is take a long, hard look in the mirror and really get to know the shape of your face. You may have already noticed that various frame shapes can accentuate facial features…or have a disproportionate final effect. The secret to selection success is choosing a frame shape that contrasts your face shape. For example, if you have a round face, opt for square or angled frames for a pleasant contrast. Likewise, wearers with angular features should choose frames with round or softly curved edges.

Tip #2 – Consider Your Personality: Are you bold? Conservative? Fashion-forward? There are countless ways to choose prescription glasses in Oakville to complement your own unique personality. Wire-rims, bright or conservative colours, and frames of various thicknesses are just some of the ways you can have your personality reflected in your selection.

Tip #3 – Complement Your Complexion: We all have certain colours that we feel our best in; these are the shades that work well with our colouring and make some of our features stand out. Because prescription glasses in Oakville come in a rainbow of colours, you can easily select a hue that truly make you feel your best.

Tip #4 – Comfort Is Key: No matter how stylish they look on the rack, it’s critical to make sure that they actually feel comfortable on your face before making your final selection. When trying them on, take careful note on how they feel on your face, particularly on the bridge of your nose as well as your temples. Ensuring that they aren’t too loose or too tight anywhere can help you find the perfect fit.

Tip #5 – Stick To Your Budget: A quality provider of prescription glasses in Oakville will take your budgetary needs into considerations, and offer a comprehensive selection of inventory, all at various price points to guarantee you find exactly what you’re looking for without going over budget.

What Are the Symptoms of Macular Degeneration?

Our eyes are truly our windows to the world and are actually very complex organs made of many parts, working in co-ordination to make vision possible for us.

The macula is that region in the center of the retina which is responsible for our main, straight line of vision. With age, the macula is known to wear out gradually, causing a condition medically known as ‘macular degeneration’. In some cases where vision fails rapidly, macular degeneration leads to blindness, but otherwise with dry macular degeneration, it takes a long time for the condition to worsen.

However, there is another type of macular degeneration that can be much more dangerous, and that is the wet type. This is caused when there is an unusual growth of blood vessels between the retina and sclera, and they reach the region under the macula where they often start bleeding.

Signs and symptoms

The following are a few major symptoms of macular degeneration, which must be kept in mind in order to prevent or delay the onset of this degenerative condition:

  • A symptom called ‘metamorphosis’ develops where the straight line of vision gets disturbed and vision therefore gets a little distorted.
  • It becomes difficult to perceive the finer details of any object, like the color, or facial features of a person. This condition is often termed as “loss in contrast sensitivity”.
  • The straight line of vision is not only disturbed but also appears to be blurred in the case of age-related macular degeneration. This is because of reduced cell functioning.
  • This condition also manifests itself in the form of decreased night vision.
  • Macular degeneration need not happen in both eyes at the same time. But it is likely that the other eye will eventually get damaged too, especially in the cases of wet macular degeneration.
  • Pain is generally not an accompanying symptom of dry age-related macular degeneration.
  • While the central line of vision gets impaired, peripheral vision may remain largely unaffected. This is one of the major symptoms of macular degeneration that helps in the diagnosis of the condition by proving that the damage is in the macula.
  • More and more blind spots appear in the straight line of vision, and this is a symptom of a more rapid macular degeneration.
  • In more advanced cases, it has often been noticed that objects appear bigger in one and smaller in the other. This is because of a possible swelling in the macula which distorts distance in the affected eye.
  • Wearing glasses is not always the best solution because even if the straight line of vision is restored, contrast sensitivity need not be.

These are some major symptoms of macular degeneration, and the causes range from the ageing process to smoking or obesity. With proper diet, eye exercises and simple measures like watering the eyes regularly, this crippling condition can be delayed.

Is It Time To Say Goodbye To Your Prescription Glasses?

Are you currently wearing prescription glasses simply because you believe that you have no other choice? You may just be surprised to find out what your vision correction options are. At Sanger Contact Lens Centre in Oakville, we often work with patients who have adjusted their activity levels and lifestyle around wearing prescription glasses because they’ve been told there is no other alternative. However, at Sanger Contact Lens Centre we have earned our reputation helping fit clients for even the toughest types of contact lenses to ensure that they always have an option when partnering with us for their vision needs.

Contact Lenses or Prescription Glasses

Not sure if you’re ready to bid your prescription glasses farewell?  Knowing a few of the significant advantages of contact lenses can help make the choice easy. First and foremost, opting for contact lenses means that you’ll instantly be able to be as active as you want to be. Sports, water events and other activities can sometimes prove challenging when wearing prescription glasses. Contact lenses broaden the scope of activities you can do.

Additionally, unlike prescription glasses, contacts actually change shape to fit with your eye’s curvature. This form-fitting feature delivers a slew of vision benefits. You’ll enjoy a broader field of view and even experience fewer distortions when compared to eyeglasses.

There are some cosmetic benefits associated with contact lenses as well. Having only eyeglasses means that there can be an occasion where your frames clash with your outfit, something you’ll never need to worry about with contact lenses. Additionally, various brands of lenses allow users to experiment with different eye colours for a fun new look.

Best of all, various lenses can actually correct your vision throughout the night while you sleep. If you suffer from myopia we may be able to fit you for overnight contacts that offer temporary correction (without using glasses!) throughout the next day.

Why You Should Consider Bifocal Contact Lenses In Oakville

Do you live an active lifestyle and feel like your glasses are holding you back? Do you need glasses for reading/seeing things near to you, but can’t seem to remember to bring them with you when you leave the house? You may be an ideal candidate for multifocal or bifocal contact lenses. Oakville residents who want to transition (part-time or even full-time) from their glasses have looked to Sanger Contact Lens Centre to help them determine if these types of lenses make sense for them. When consulting with these patients, we help them understand exactly what our multi- and bifocal lenses in Oakville offer so they can decide if this vision option makes sense for their needs.

Multifocal And Bifocal Contact Lenses In Oakville: All The Important Basics

Presbyopia is the main condition for which we prescribe these types of lenses to our patients. It’s a common vision disorder that occurs in many of us as we get older. As we age, our eyes can weaken and make it difficult to maintain focus on objects near to us. Suddenly, every day tasks, such as reading, can become challenging or even impossible.

Previously, patients with presbyopia had glasses as their only option. However, this is no longer the case. Today, patients searching for multi- and/or bifocal contact lenses in Oakville have a wide range of options. When working with the team at Sanger Contact Lens Centre in Oakville,  we can help you find multifocal and bifocal contact lenses in various forms, such as:

Gas permeable: These lenses have been known to give superior results; while many patients initially feel reluctant to use this type of lens, Sanger Contact Lens Centre has earned a reputation for creating easy to wear, comfortable gas permeable lenses.

Soft: For many people, soft lenses prove slightly easier to adjust to and make an ideal choice for patients requiring part-time vision correction.

Hybrid: This particular option combines both soft and gas permeable features to deliver great vision results that prove easier to wear.

What’s the best way to see if you’re a candidate for any of our multifocal or bifocal contact lenses in Oakville? Contact Sanger Contact Lens Centre today at 905-844-4446 to discuss your needs with one of our specialists. Current customers can also order online.
